Altered Book: Twilight

I'm very intrigued and can't help wondering what you could do with Wuthering Heights or any other Brontë Sisters novel, for that matter... Or Thomas Hardy.:Tess of the D'Urbervilles or Far From the Madding Crowd, for example...
Wuthering Heights is one of my favorite books! I don't know why I never thought of it before, I dreamed about Cathy at the window for months after I read it. I don't usually do such complicated themes, this is a new thing. The other book I am working on is a silly one called Miss Mary Mack, and it is full of little girls and elephants...
As in the jump-rope chant, Miss Mary Mack? Sounds like fun! The pics you've just posted make me think you'd have fun with a good 19th-c. novel, serious or silly.
Oh, BTW, I saw your comments on C.O. re. "Planet Unicorn" and couldn't agree with you more! I think the whole series is a spoof of the kinds of cartoons you're talking about, among other things. It's all very dorky, in a good, silly way.
I can't stand the kinds of grown ups who are too grown up to be silly, and you will understand this, e2c, because I'm sure you get this too. People come over, they see bunnies hopping in our living room. They are like, you have rabbits hopping in your house. I'm like, yeah. They are like, why? And right there I know that they are not the right sort. The right sort of person says, wow! you have bunnies! that is so cool! Can I pet one? If you have to explain it, they won't understand anyway, y'know what I mean? planet Unicorn heyyy...

I absolutely KWYM, heyyyy.....!

Or grown-ups who think it's childish to get excited about something trivial or enraptured with the beauty all around. At the shopping centre near where I work there is a huge fishtank full of coral reef fish (think Finding Nemo). I saw a little girl go running up to it yelling "Look Daddy, the fish is SITTING DOWN!!!" She was looking at a flounder I think. The father just walked on by and said, "Hurry up." It seems so purile, but I felt like slapping him! What's 2 minutes of your life worth? Let your daughter marvel at nature. She'll be a better, happier person.

I don't have kids though, so maybe I'm missing something.

No your not missing something, I hate parents like that! I probably would have very inappropriately said that's really cool, isn't it sweetie? And her parents would have grabbed her and ran away, because I was obviously unbalanced for talking to a child like a person. if we had a mall like that, we would prolly go just to watch the fish. The stupid shopping could wait.
Ooh, yes - on all counts! (meaning I'd have talked to that little girl, too, and...)

I love the "fish is SITTING DOWN!!!!!."

That's good to know. It's so easy to judge people on something you know nothing about. That's why I wondered if it was just me.

The even more annoying thing about that story is, there are cards all around the top of the tank with pictures and facts on all the different fish in the tank. So she could have learned all about the fish that was sitting down. I annoyed myself too, because it wasn't until I got back to work that I realised I had something to say to that parent. I completely missed the boat! A bit slow on the uptake sometimes I am.

Hope you had a great time camping Krista!!!!

Ha! Like Krista, i'd go to the mall just to see the fish. ;)
