QotD: Fascinating Class
What is the most interesting class you have ever taken?

My two favorite classes in college were Wilderness in Literature, which was the trancendentalists, Muir, and others who wrote about nature. I really Liked reading Desert Solitude and Tinkers Creek for this one. The professor took us up to his cabin in the canyon, where we could watch the water ousels in the stream.
The other favorite was Christian Fantasy Literature. It was a class that studied Tolkien, CS Lewis, etc. from a Christian perspective. We talked about archetypes and Good vs. Evil a lot. At the end of the class, we had a huge Tolkien-style feast where we dressed up in costumes and the whole shebang. I wore this incredible black medieval dress that laced up the front and went as some kind of evil witch person. People recited their poetry and we ate and acted like idiots for hours. It sounds really stupid when I write it out, but it was fun to hang around with like minded people who were not afraid to make fools of themselves. You know, REAL people.
