The day thus far...
Being a stay-at-home-mom is very challenging often not because of the housework or drudgery, but because you can't get to it because of all the little things that are so important that have to be done. On days like today I find it helpful to make a list of all the things I actually have done so I don't get into one of those "I never get anything done so why bother" funks. Here is the day thus far:
Cleaned the mattress and sheets of the bed the four year old peed on in his sleep (my bed;) )
Got showered/dressed/ready for when I have to go out later
Put up posts on my various blogs to pimp for that harsh mistress, Adsense.
Fed the cats, dog, bunnies, children
Argued with the autistic teen about the merits of taking a shower, prevailed.
Insisted said teen clean her room or she is not going to her friends party later, prevailed.
Loaded the washer.
Emptied the cat box
Visited the cats in their solitary confinement where they are locked up while they do litter box boot camp.
Got the mail, shelled it and filed the bills, etc.
Took the dog out to do his business and gave him his pill.
Made lunch for the children.
Checked my email.
Gave teen her medications.
Got out all the stuff for the cards I am making for girl's camp for next week. (good intentions...)
Checked on bowl that the cat was peeing in, Which has been sitting in the sun for days to eliminate the smell. It still smells.
Talked with my husband on the phone for a while about going to pick up our new minivan this afternoon.
Looked up some nutrition information for my sister.
Cleaned off the four year old, who is very messy.
Trimmed the nails of the 8 year old who doesn't like doing it himself, and insisted he go put on a clean shirt before we go.
I am getting their shoes on so we can head out to take the girly girl to her party, and it has actually been a very busy morning. It may not seem like much individually, but collectively it's a lot!
Whew, maybe I will go take a nap, totally guilt free.

No such thing as NOT being bizzy when you have kidz. Don't feel guilty about resting! You have a LOT to do so some things just have to wait, u no?
